Dubai Ruins by JonasDeRo Dubai Ruins by JonasDeRo
I imagined what Dubai would look like if mankind would disappear and nature would take over, and if the UAE wasn't in de middle of the frickin' desert of course. (perhaps after a climate shift caused by global warming?)

Done today in 8 hours, using this as ref

There is no global warming, this is all bull*hit. The glacier are more firm than usual. We're probably into another ice age. Human CAN'T affect the global temperature.

Of course it's in a desert, the city would be in ruins by having many years of sandstorms destroy the buildings.

Wow, all of your ruin pictures are so eerie, they're great :D

Dubai deserves destruction more than most places in the world.

Think of a jackass who wins the lottery and uses the money to purchase a golden statue of his testicles and has Filipino slave boys carry him around all day long and feed him grapes and kiss his feet, that would be Dubai as a person.

You expected a jungle to be growing in a desert???
MauriceHiglim Featured By Owner May 15, 2015  Hobbyist General Artist
Wow! It's perfect for a dystopian movie.
boogeyman829 Featured By Owner May 14, 2015  Hobbyist General Artist
Very cool. Like if all humans left dubai and it started raining and turned green.
HeardDdragon Featured By Owner May 14, 2015  Hobbyist General Artist
Yes this is what proboly wold happen
and I like it
if dubai was not in a desert and if man dosent manege to destroy the eath first
Ciupakabra Featured By Owner May 14, 2015
At first I was confused why it's so green, when it's supposed to be in a desert, then I read the description and went, - ahh. Anyway's looks like something from the discovery channel, always was fascinated by "what if", though mankind doesn't necessary have to disappear for a city to go like this, take Chernobyl for example. Though I do have to wonder how enough earth was blown up on top of some of the buildings for trees to grow there. But I'm rambling, love it, especially the sky, it looks fantastic in my eyes, but I'm far from an art expert :P
trafalgarhero Featured By Owner May 13, 2015
Magnificent. But...(and maybe it is a dumb question since I don't know the backstory) shouldn't it be a desert?
taxi2006 Featured By Owner May 13, 2015
Exactly what I was thinking, though it is a great piece of art nonetheless.
Muraki3777 Featured By Owner May 13, 2015
cool concept!

It all happened in the blink of an eye. The war froze the Earth as we left to Luna. Dubai was a luckier city that we remembered. Time will take its toll. Soon.

I like your thinking. We very well may be in a vast computer simulation. Our universe is full of constants, full of very similiar bases. For example, division of zero is supposedly impossible. But,alas, the black hole contains a singularity point, which is infinite.Like any computer program, when it runs out of memory,it blanks out.So black holes may be stack overflows. And,how do we know what is "real" or "fake"?Our brains interpret information just like computers do:1's and 0's,pulses of electricity on and off.Our brains are wired with neurons, which pulse electricity on and off. So,humans can be programmed, just as we do towards AI.I am a physicist, and I find that everything may not be true. For example, the universe is infinitely complex. But,it does have an end.We could be inside a blackhole right now,and we wouldn't know.

-What if humans were created by robots and their reason to create us because robots are facing extinction and they need us to create robot to maintain their existence.

-What if humans are like, an absolutely organic cybernetic-organisms but with individual intelligence that involves learning to evolve their data?

-What if criminals, lazy peoples and disabled are actually partially malfunctioned and rogue robots?

-What if accidents and deaths happen is to eliminate the person who knew too much of their own existence without being very suspicious?

-What if old people with amnesia were involved in a program to harmlessly neutralize a person from finding out their out their true existence?

- What if old people have their bodies laced with diseases with high death rate to terminate them if they can't be controlled by amnesia?

-What if diseases are actually computer viruses?

-What if dinosaurs are actually robots?

-What if aliens who hunted robots down to the brink of extinction?

-What if world leaders are actually the second-in-command to rule robots?

-What if a robot commander found out this comment?

What if this have actually happened long, long time ago?

There is actually a global climate cycle that earth goes through, millions of years ago Europe was all ice and all of today's deserts were covered by vegetation, this will repeat but in the distant future.

This seems like a great future for the people of the amazon basin. What a site to see them improve like this.

Stunning. Fun fact: Where Dubai currently resides used to be a lush landscape millions of years ago.
